Project Description

Client:

Transport for NSW

In July 2013 Sydney’s monorail was decommissioned. The network, which included four stations located on a 3.6 km elevated track was dismantled and removed to enable expansion to the Sydney Convention, Exhibition and Entertainment Precinct which occupies the area beneath the monorail.

The works involved the closure of all the stations, terminating the ticketing, power and other services, and removing the train sets from the track at the maintenance facility on Darling Drive along with removal of the support columns.

WTP was engaged in 2012 to prepare detailed cost estimates for the works.
