The new Virgin Blue lounge has room for 300 travellers and a panoramic view over the tarmac.

WT Partnership provided pre contract cost planning advice to Construction Control from concept design up to tender stage. The project derives its name from its funder, Canberra Airport owner, philanthropist and Old Boy of Canberra Grammar School, Mr Terry Snow.

The $18 million car park includes external butterfly ramps on the eastern and western ends of the structure as well as lifts.

Split over three levels the building includes a hydrotherapy pool, sleep centre, 50-seat theatrette, fully equipped gym including 60 m Australian Standard sprint track, medical and physiotherapy rooms and an environmental chamber for exercising under controlled temperature, humidity and oxygen pressure to simulate altitude.

The Australian National Arboretum and Gardens is situated on 290ha of bushfire-damaged land north of Canberra’s Lake Burley Griffin.
